Business Integration
Businesses today face unrelenting pressures to stay agile and out-maneuver new, nimble forms of competition. Building business agility is not an option; fostering a strong partnership between business and IT is a key to a company's success.
Learn first-hand how integration can be a catalyst for business agility through a combination of BPM and SOA. Hear first-hand, how innovative companies today are supporting business change through Business Process Management (BPM) and scaling these process efforts by applying SOA principles to integrate the enterprise.
Dive into how BEA's Business Integration approach is solving real problems for enterprises world wide through a holistic, BPM and SOA-based integration solution that empowers both business and IT. If you've been wondering how to best align business priorities with your IT investments, BEA World will show you how Business Integration is a driving force to transform and optimize your business.
Business Interaction
In today’s hyper competitive economy, enterprises are focused on new sources of competitive advantage to drive revenue, growth and innovation. A key source of advantage is the people making up the business – employees, partners, and customers. However, many companies struggle to improve the productivity of these business users who require improved workplace capabilities for their increasingly collaborative activities and more efficient access to internal and external information and applications to complete business processes.
Learn how portal, business process management, collaboration and social computing products from BEA can be used to empower end users to directly address situational business challenges by providing a greater opportunity to create, collaborate and adapt more quickly; and enable employees, partners, and customers to easily access the information they need, with streamlined access to the processes important to them and with service levels that meet their expectations.
Enterprise Foundation
I get it! Coarse-grained, loosely coupled services will help my enterprise respond quickly and effectively to changing business needs. But what should I run my services infrastructure on and where should those critical services reside? BEA WebLogic and Tuxedo provide the answer.
The enterprise foundation track will cover the key BEA products that provide the rock-solid foundation for enterprise applications and SOA services. Topics covered:
- Working in the real world with mainframe class, extreme enterprise applications
- Virtualization: maximize your infrastructure investments
- Real time and event-driven computing: bringing Java and SOA to previously uncharted areas
- Preemptive services technology: preventing outages before they even happen
- BEA WebLogic Server: the best keeps getting better!
SOA Governance
SOA is about facilitating change, about gaining and leveraging agility for competitive advantage. Applying SOA governance practices, processes, and controls throughout an organization and into the SOA lifecycle can help keep an SOA on track, reduce risk, and ensure business value. But many organizations make the leap to SOA without considering governance. Bad move. Without governance, these organizations jeopardize their chances of reaping the benefits of SOA. With governance, today's business can experience the very real agility, alignment and ROI improvements of an SOA that works.
Learn how SOA governance is making a big difference in the success of real SOA implementations. This session will highlight key areas, including organizing for governance, the creation of processes and policies, and the implementation of governance technologies.
SOA in Financial Services
To present a modern and compelling face to the customer in the face of aging infrastructure and IT complexity, the financial industry is adopting SOA faster than any other industry. However the demands of managing value-bearing transactions, including throughput, security and regulatory compliance place acute pressure on IT. This BEAWorld track is aimed at demonstrating how our FS customers are transforming their business with SOA and are using IT best practices to integrate new and legacy business systems into a rock solid SOA foundation.
SOA in Manufacturing, Distribution, Retail and Service Sectors
Across the manufacturing, distribution, retail and service sectors, organisations have invested heavily in IT over the past 20 years, and are now looking leverage these assets further by:
- Connecting disparate applications and data sources
- Controlling access & authorisation by role and responsibility
- Collaborating using a combination of business services & processes that span the IT landscape both internally and externally.
This track will provide insight into how specific companies have been able to ‘Innovate without Barriers’ using BEA technology - showing how people, processes and systems can work together to achieve the following common goals:
- Attract & retain existing customers
- Reduce costs
- Deliver against market expectations
SOA in Public Sector
21st Century Process Transformation in Government
Public sector organizations are embracing transformational strategies to create joined-up government and improve back-end process efficiencies, with a combined target of improving and expanding services, for citizens and businesses alike. SOA, inclusive of BPM, is changing the way technology is delivered to and from Public sector organizations and changing the way citizens and businesses interact with the government.
As the Public sector embraces process transformation and cross organizational interoperability, and as the citizen, businesses and even Public sector employees become more demanding, more and more services become available on-line.
From State and Local to Federal civilian and Defense organizations, learn how the Public sector is utilizing platform infrastructure and SOA principles to deliver joined-up government and healthcare provision while simultaneously streamlining operations and reducing the cost of service delivery.
SOA in Telecommunications
Enabling the Service Network, through use of SOA
Service providers continue to face increasing competitive pressures in the global telecom market, forcing them to contemplate new ways to conduct business. The focus is upon Innovation - service providers globally are asking themselves 'How can we create new user experiences?'
BEA enables the leading communication service providers to evolve toward a dynamic, flexible infrastructure which can support changing business needs and converge IT & Telecom capabilities into a unified infrastructure - we call this the Service Network.
While service providers consider this challenge, they are seeing three driving trends in the market: 1) the convergence of network infrastructures, bringing together fixed, mobile, enterprise, and internet communications, and 2) the convergence of telecommunications and information technologies (IP-based technologies), which facilitates the creation and delivery of new services on top of these converging networks, and 3) the increased adoption of Service Oriented Architecture in both IT and the network service layer.
The BEA Telecom track will provide an insight of how BEA enables Service providers to innovate & build the Service Network. It will provide an overview of how BEA solves problems such as OSS/BSS integration, service assembly, delivery & management, and how to use BEA's tools, processes and platforms to provide innovative new services.
SOA Management/Security
Businesses are turning to SOA as a strategy for becoming more flexible and agile. The distributed nature of SOA, however, carries certain unique risks. In order to mitigate these risks, organizations need to understand and control the various internal and external factors that can affect the SOA. To accomplish this, organizations must implement management and security solutions that provide visibility into the operational characteristics of the SOA and apply security and control mechanisms to ensure peak performance, business alignment, and sustainable ROI.
Learn how to apply management and security within your SOA to mitigate the risks and ensure success. This track will highlight key areas, including managing heterogeneity in SOA, applying comprehensive end-to-end security, and the critical roles played by policy and virtualization.
