Independent financial consultancy company AWD started its own Intranet for the current headcount of some 6,000 AWD financial consultants at a relatively early stage. Increasingly, it emerged that there was an urgent need for transparent structures, effective management of rights and users, and a coherent profile of integrated business processes based on reusable applications.
Deployed a Service-Oriented Architecture based on BEA WebLogic Portal to underpin company's Intranet platform. It provides AWD with the capability for fluid interplay between numerous flexible interdisciplinary applications using a uniform, user-friendly interface. An overarching rights and roles concept saves users from having to make redundant applications and entries and ensures target-oriented transmission of important information to recipients.
The AWD Sales Information Portal ensures smooth flow of information within the company over a wide range of applications and accelerates the development of business processes. The higher level of productivity for shorter run times has led to a significant increase in effective selling time. It is also anticipated that savings will be generated by reducing the amount of training required. The German financial consultancy also achieved a return on investment in 15 months.
