B&W is using the AquaLogic Interaction Collaboration to manage hundreds of projects that might last a week or span several years. One application that exemplifies how BEA's technology is contributing to B&W's financial success is the Project Controls Anchor Application. This composite application provides cross-functional collaboration and key metrics across the entire supply chain to help maximize the company's profit through efficient resource planning. Suppliers, employees and customers can access critical tasks and specific data from various sources, including B&W's ERP, document management, and project and portfolio management systems.
MyB&W is serving a diverse audience - from employees to customers as well as suppliers to strategic partners - and is providing a medium where B&W is demonstrating the knowledge, experience and technology that differentiate it from its competition. B&W is leveraging the BEA portal framework to deliver mission-critical applications and already has significantly improved sales efficiency and reduced lead time fluctuation and reporting costs. B&W has also increased employee productivity by maximizing resource scheduling and capacity planning and avoiding redundant development of sales content.
