Each Basque Government agency operated its own portal environment using custom applications. This created and inconsistent, fragmented Internet service and led to confusion among citizens and enterprises. It also meant effort was duplicated.
Deployed BEA WebLogic Server 8.1 and BEA WebLogic Integration 8.1 as the foundation for a new, eGovernment-based SOA. Solution provides a unified and simple interface for the region's business community and its two million citizens.
Allows the seamless exchange of services and information among citizens and enterprises. Also led to more efficient collaboration among 13 different agencies/offices/departments within the Basque Administration. Portal standardization is also allowing Administration to achieve a significant reduction in its operating budget.
