Leading Catalonian bank in Spain needed the flexibility, openness, vendor independence, compatibility, and versatility provided by open systems environment. Bank also needed to tackle the challenges of electronic banking, risk management, and other issues.
Deployed BEA Tuxedo, BEA WebLogic Server 8.1, and BEA WebLogic Integration 8.1 to support the implementation of applications that allow the office network to move closer to customers and anticipate their needs. At the same time, the strategic aim is to simplify unavoidable administrative tasks related to any given commercial activity.
New applications such as e-learning and HR management applications, CRM tools to improve the client interface, and BPM environments to speed up administrative tasks, are some of the applications which reflect the synergies between BEA and Caixa Penedès. Amongst the variety of projects that have been developed during this last stage, the key ones include a Risk Management application, a Backup Center project geared to maximizing system availability, and a new outsourcing service offered to various Spanish financial organizations.
