After a successful launch on the back of the deregulation of telecoms services in France, followed by a consolidation period which cemented its profitability, Completel decided to target new markets in order to maintain double-digit growth. The operator launched an unbundling DSL network, based on fully automated provisioning.
Completel has developed a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) to benefit from higher levels of operational flexibility, reuse, and upgradeability. Automating the process of supplying DSL services guarantees the profitability of the service. Approximately ten business applications (OSS/BSS) have been integrated via BEA WebLogic Integration and standard XML, with the customer front-end based on BEA WebLogic Portal.
The new architecture has been set up in less than six months. Owing to the automation of the processes (zero touch architecture), the company has been able to eliminate the risk of human error and control its costs. Completel now relies on a flexible architecture capable of adapting to all technological or commercial developments in the market. With the first package launched, two further ones are currently under development (small and medium-sized firms and 'Triple Play') which will also take advantage of an SOA.
