The leading bank Credit Suisse has an extremely diverse system infrastructure-all of which demands speed, security, and availability. It is also necessary to retain the large number of Java applications to minimize costs and maximize efficiency.
A Java Application Platform (JAP) based on BEA WebLogic Server 8.1 minimizes the resources required for development and operation of around 200 different applications. JAP provides basic infrastructure services, simplifies technical processes, and delivers more productivity with fewer resources on the basis of a high level of standardization.
Around 40 percent of Java applications have been integrated within JAP over a period of slightly more than two years. The first release of the platform provided a full payback within this period as a result of rationalization effects in development and operation.
