Following in the market-leading footsteps of BEA WebLogic Server, BEAs newer products all of which are part of the BEA WebLogic Enterprise Platform have won technology raves, quality awards, and customers at a fast pace.
BEA WebLogic Integration won more than 130 customers in its first seven months, fueled by a strong ecosystem of system integrators and the ability of BEA WebLogic Integration to help customers quickly solve supply and demand chain integration challenges, integrate complex order management systems, and help business process automation to deliver significant return on investment.
Since the debut of BEA WebLogic Portal 4.0, the industry and media have recognized BEA as a leading portal vendor. BEA WebLogic Portal has won an installed base of more than 600 customers. Gartners May 2002 Magic Quadrant report on portals identified BEA as a leader in the market. Both Forrester Research and AMR Research place BEA WebLogic Portal 4.0 on their short list for recommended portal software. BEA WebLogic Portal was named the 2001 InfoWorld Technology of the Year, won Java Pro magazines Readers Choice Award for best Java enterprise portal, and won a 2002 Codie Award for Best Enterprise Portal Solution from the Software & Information Industry Association.
In addition to the individual successes of these recently released BEA products, we continued to see impressive demand for our entire enterprise platform, especially given the state of the economy and information technology spending last year. With the consolidation of WebLogic Server, WebLogic Integration, and WebLogic Portal into a single platform that already has a long track record of success, BEA has entered the application infrastructure market in a position of strength.
