We are achieving this growth through service enhancements and a re-engineering of our IT infrastructure to meet the changing needs of the industry. Payment volumes are one of the critical success factors of our business and we continue to set new processing milestones – e.g., Direct Debit and Direct Credit surpassed 2 billion and 1 billion payments respectively in 2000. We’ve taken significant steps to prepare BACS to meet the industry’s payment needs of the future. Our investment in new technology enables us to achieve our primary business goal.
