BEA Guardian: A New Model of Pre-Emptive Support

A virus checker for enterprise software? As I write this, BEAWorld 2006 is in full swing. Among the announcements is that of BEA Guardian, which looks to be useful to developers and IT managers alike. It works a little like a virus checker, taking digital signatures of your installed software, libraries and system, and comparing them against a known database of signatures. If a match is found, it knows that you have a problem in your configuration or library compatibilities or that a patch conflicts with other software you have, etc. Check it out and sign up for the beta!
