By developers, for developers
REST and Web 2.0. Maven too

The Web 2.0 movement emphasizes “the support of lightweight programming models that allow for loosely coupled systems.” One of the protocols that has been at the forefront of this movement is Representational State Transfer (REST)—and close on its heels you will find the JavaScript Object Notation (JSON), a lightweight data interchange format that’s particularly useful if you’re transferring data to a browser (Ajax anyone?). As our featured article states, if “your Web services consumers will be confined to the environment of a browser, JSON deserves serious consideration.”
