WebLogic Event Server and Implementing Mashups

In the news recently, BEA announced the WebLogic Event Server 2.0 product. This is a Java container for high-performance event-driven applications, with a complex event processing engine and support for the Spring Framework out of the box. I hope to have a lot more on Dev2Dev in the next few months.

Mashups are all the rage - everyone wants to mashup services, data and UI functionality. One of the featured articles this month Ajax-Powered Google Maps Mashup Tutorial shows how to build a simple mashup, while two blog posts, our poll and Dev2Dev TechDays all feature mashups too. I sense a theme!

Finally, we’re switching Dev2Dev Dispatch from twice a month to once a month only. If you’d like something more often, please subscribe to my blog.

AquaLogic SOA Management 2.6
Finally, Dain Hansen introduces AquaLogic SOA Management 2.6. He begins by asking an interesting question: "For instance, we know that SOA gives you a more agile IT but at the cost of increase in system complexity of services. How do we even begin to try to manage this complexity to gain better visibility and control on what's happening? Ask yourself this question: do you know what is happening with your SOA?" Of course, he provides an answer too ;-)
